To put this in context, I look at this world as an on looker, detached and see and enjoy the going ons, the “tamasha” as it unfolds. My outlook on life is totally and completely optimistic. I am a 200 percent positive person and my paintings I hope impart the same optimism and uplifting experience for the viewer. My paintings are a celebration of life. I choose to live in my own world where I define my own rules, create immunity for myself and as previously mentioned, I exist in nirvana where everything is perfect. It is in this state that I paint so I am detached, I am devoted and I am obsessive when I paint and I hope that my paintings display these emotions.

This is what my paintings are all about ie optimism etc. As I mentioned in my blue chip interview that I have only one rule and that is that there are no rules. frankly, I am not bothered how the viewer sees them. The viewer may well have a totally different appreciation of my paintings and that is fine and I am cool with that and I purposely leave a lot in my paintings which is open to interpretation to each viewer. That is the whole point. This is precisely why to most of your questions, I have answered ‘ please see translation . it is by design that I do not wish to give my view and my interpretation of the painting…. “curiosity kill the cat… and satisfaction brought it back to life again…” what I am saying here is that I have put sufficient in my paintings in that they are aesthetically pleasing and the engagement is achieved through the use of the verses from the Quran and Bhagavad gita. Once the viewer or the critic is engaged, the literal translation is accompanied with the painting. They are directed to that translation. I refuse to be drawn further. This is the art of my art. Let me explain this point further. The verses are sacred. The quran to the muslims and the gita to the hindus. Once my painting is placed on somebody’s wall, every human being will ask what does the verse mean. I can guarantee that, therefore the curiosity will be aroused. I can guarantee that. As there s a literal translation for the verse ( without any input from faiza ) the answer is there. From this point the viewer or the critic can make up their own mind. They can interpret the colours, the verse, the presentation, the drama, the optimism as they see them. I am targeting an intelligent viewer who can think for themselves so here we come to an impasse. the viewer may ask the artist to explain why she has done what she has done in the choice of colours, in the choice of her verse etc and why she has done it perhaps and what does this all mean to the artist.. The artist’s answer is I will not be drawn further. I have given you enough, I have engaged you enough. Please make up your own mind. It is not for me to make up your mind or to push you in any direction. So then they ask me who is the artist ? and my answer is the artist is a mystery. The artist has engaged you. The artist is in nirvana. As each person’s nirvana is specific to them, it is a place where the viewer cannot come. The viewer must find their own nirvana. The artist is detached, the artist is an on looker from an elevated vantage point on the “tamasha” in the playground of children ie the world. The artist is beyond reach.
